- ➤ Restaurateur Christian Puccio opened Oak & Ember Tasting Room and Market on Little River Turnpike in Aldie in early January. The new venue provides tasting and market experiences for local food enthusiasts. Loudoun Times-Mirror

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Loudoun County Public Schools Superintendent Aaron Spence presented a $2.1 billion fiscal year 2027 budget proposal that raises spending 5.3% with increased staff pay and benefits. The School Board will review the plan Jan. 20, Jan. 22, and Jan. 28 with a public hearing Jan. 29 and a vote set for Feb. 3. Loudoun Now
- ➤ On Thursday night, the school board reinstated attendance zone boundary changes from last month amid disputes from parents in Brambleton and The Grant at Willowsford, saying delays in registration and bus planning could worsen if not resolved. - ➤ Leesburg Town Council voted Tuesday to make the Pride rainbow crosswalk permanent at Harrison Street and the W&OD Trail after the Loudoun Pride Foundation asked to delay its removal. Under the new policy, nonprofits will sponsor long-term displays and cover maintenance costs using city guidelines & local approvals. Loudoun Now
