  • A somber ceremony held Tuesday at Ashburn Ice House unveiled a sculpture honoring local skaters and families lost in a January 29 plane crash; names were read and the venue on Smith Switch Road will close Thursday for private remembrance.  The Burn

  • Today, the Ashburn Ice House unveiled a new memorial sculpture honoring the figure skaters, parents, and coaches who lost their lives one year ago in a mid-air collision near Reagan National Airport (the tribute will be lit annually on the anniversary).  Loudoun Now

  • Hakiki, a new restaurant specializing in kabobs, has leased a 1,400 s.f. space at South Riding Market Square in southern Loudoun, replacing the closed China Wok spot. No opening date has been set.  The Burn

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Aug. 14, 2025, the Virginia Association of Counties recognized three Loudoun County programs: the Financial and Cybercrime Unit, Loudoun Farm Tour, & Teen Photographers program. The awards praised efforts in combating digital financial crimes, supporting agriculture, and promoting youth digital photography.  Loudoun County
  • Leesburg Public Works began a snow haul-out operation downtown Tuesday morning (temporary road closures will occur block by block) that may take up to two business days; the Town Hall parking garage stays open during the work.  Loudoun Now

  • The Picklr indoor pickleball club is set to open this spring in Sterling at 46262 Cranston St featuring 10 courts + a pro shop and event space.
