EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Loudoun County School Board approved a $2.1B fiscal year 2027 budget on Tuesday evening after debating amendments on COLA adjustments, meal transaction fee shifts, and staffing changes. The meeting resulted in $413,808 saved for the nutrition fund. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Loudoun County's charter schools in Middleburg and Hillsboro received high scores from the Virginia Department of Education on Tuesday, with Middleburg scoring 91.6 and Hillsboro 91.5. - ➤ A Loudoun County School Board committee reviewed proposals to expand specialized programs — including starting an NDCC unit for 100–150 students and possibly broadening dual language immersion at Sanders Corner and Potowmack — with the NDCC unit expected within six months and the language program perhaps as early as next fall. - ➤ Dominion Energy and NOVA Parks signed a new agreement to manage vegetation along the 45-mile W&OD Trail after last year's tree clearing drew local concern.
