  • Construction has begun for Petit Sablé (the region’s first French bakery and dessert shop) near Arby’s and The Human Bean at Gateway Village. The building frame is rising at the intersection of Route 50 and Gateway Village Place, and more details will be shared before it opens.  The Burn

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Loudoun Invasive Removal Alliance is hosting five outings from Feb. 21 to March 1 to remove invasive plants like English ivy, vinca, Amur, and Japanese honeysuckle at sites including Lansdowne on the Potomac and Sycamore Hill in Leesburg — participants must bring safety gear like pruners, glasses, and gloves.  Loudoun Now

  • MWAA fire union announced that all 143 firefighters joined this week (the first full membership ever) to strengthen their bargaining position in ongoing pay talks with the Authority.  Loudoun Now
  • The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services unveiled its updated logo today, featuring a flourishing leaf and five shapes (excellence, collaboration, innovation, integrity and resilience) marking 60 years of service.
