ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • An overnight fire closed Ashburn's Ace Photo when electrical issues damaged display cases and used camera equipment; owner Mo Jalali said the team is cleaning up and filing insurance claims, with plans to reopen by this coming weekend.  The Burn

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Loudoun County Public Schools is considering adjusting start times at several schools to ease morning congestion (though many parents worry about the disruption) and will announce any changes soon.  Loudoun Times-Mirror

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • County supervisors approved designs for Western Loudoun's recreation complex near Purcellville last night. The 142-acre project features a 96,000 sqft center + athletic fields, pickleball courts, and more, with construction set to begin next year at an estimated cost of $261 million.  Loudoun Now
  • Officials from LCPS reviewed a $3 million renewal contract with Allied Universal on Tuesday that provides a 2.6% hourly raise for personnel handling visitor management (not tasked with securing campus facilities) amid questions over their role; the full board will review the contract at a future meeting.  Loudoun Now
  • The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved design plans for the new Western Loudoun Recreation Complex on Tuesday, Mar. 17 (a project to boost local recreation) in Loudoun County.  Loudoun Times-Mirror
  • Sterling residents spent 90 minutes at last night's Board of Supervisors meeting urging officials to require Dominion Energy bury transmission lines underground near schools and homes.
