- ➤ JK Land Holdings submitted a rezoning application to allow up to 927,000 square feet for the Cross Mill Center data center on a 22-acre site south of Leesburg following a March 12 public hearing where planning commission members, local church leaders and airport officials showed support while county planning staff raised concerns about building height and visual impact. The board will vote on the proposal on April 15 and the applicant has agreed to add buffering and walls to lessen the industrial look. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Residents from Loudoun Valley Estates urged the Board of Supervisors to retract its route recommendation for power line options near Rock Ridge High and Rosa Lee Carter Elementary on Tuesday because they worry about health effects and school safety—while the School Board will vote on the easement options on March 25 and supervisors said they will work toward an underground route. - ➤ On March 18, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution that recognized 16 local employers and a university as Best Workplaces for Commuters — awarding those who offer eco-friendly transport options like compressed work weeks, transit benefits and teleworking.
