EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Loudoun County Public Schools’ Finance Committee is urging school board members to simplify budget presentations, as the current $2 billion plan covering 80,500 students and 13,700 full-time employees has grown too complex. Loudoun Times-Mirror
- ➤ The Loudoun County School Board’s Finance and Operations Committee reviewed LCPS’s budget process on Tuesday at a meeting requested by Amy Riccardi (Sterling) to improve transparency. Director Casey Jones explained the process details as the full Board will discuss the fiscal year 2028 budget in May. Loudoun Now

- ➤ On March 18, a county committee finalized recommendations for western land use covering equestrian, agricultural processing, and slaughterhouses (after over a year of study). Officials will review the proposals for planning local development. Loudoun Times-Mirror
- ➤ At a March 11 meeting, Lovettsville Town Council approved a resolution urging county leaders to fund a full-time school resource officer at Lovettsville Elementary (the school is 15 miles from the nearest sheriff's station), and residents are asked to support the measure at Tuesday's School Board meeting. - ➤ Supervisors approved a rezoning application for the Franklin Park western extension at a Loudoun County Board of Supervisors meeting on March 17. The decision sets the stage for park improvements between the current park and Round Hill. Loudoun Times-Mirror
