- ➤ Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services will host an Arbor Day event at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve with a Liberty Tree planted on Friday, Apr. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. — A second event is set for Saturday, Apr. 25 at the Middleburg Agricultural Research and Extension Center. - ➤ The newest Bruster’s Real Ice Cream shop is set to open in April at Cascades Overlook in Sterling. Owners confirmed the location, which replaces the former Qwench Juice Bar and DRNK Coffee Shop, will welcome customers in a few weeks. The Burn
- ➤ Work has begun on Tous Les Jours French-Asian bakery in Ashburn at the Ashbrook Marketplace shopping center off Ashburn Village Boulevard - Russell Branch Parkway. This new location, replacing the Cafe Rio space, will be only the second in Loudoun County. The Burn

- ➤ Shenandoah Potters Guild will host a pottery show and sale during the 36th Annual Garden Fair at State Arboretum at Blandy Experimental Farm on Mother’s Day weekend, May 9–10. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (preview night for members is May 8, 5 to 7:30 p.m.). Blue Ridge Leader

Mark Warner met with the Chamber’s Business Women of Loudoun Committee on Friday afternoon, where he warned that job cutbacks from artificial intelligence could hit college graduates, minority and women business owners, and urged tech companies to reinvest profits in retraining programs for roles AI cannot replace. - ➤ From March 23 to 27, Loudoun County Public Schools held the Farmer Trading Card Program where elementary students collected cards that shared local farmers’ stories + lessons on healthy eating. The program will feature a meet-and-greet at halftime during the April 25 match. Blue Ridge Leader

- ➤ The conservation effort to preserve the 1,200-acre Oak Hill estate won a state environmental gold medal at the Environment Virginia Symposium on March 24 — project advocates remain hopeful that state park plans will be funded despite legislative delays. Loudoun Now
