- ➤ Lovettsville community members gathered on Saturday morning to celebrate the opening of a new fire and rescue station that began operating on March 19 and features a hot decontamination area to clean gear on site. Officials said the station marks progress in public safety and offers quality-of-life upgrades such as a big gym and large locker rooms + improved work areas for volunteer and career firefighters. - ➤ County and project leaders marked the groundbreaking for the Northern Virginia Science Center in Loudoun County on March 31, 2025—starting the building’s two-year construction of a 70000 square feet interactive museum set to serve families, students and seniors. - ➤ Loudoun County is asking residents to review a draft plan to reduce pollutants in Bull Run, Goose Creek and Sugarland Run—part of an update to meet state water quality guidelines—with comments accepted until April 15. - ➤ Beginning Saturday, April 5, Loudoun County Transit will expand its service by adding Sunday bus routes and extending paratransit hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The fare-free service will cover Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Sugarland Run, Countryside, the Innovation Center Metrorail station and Dulles Town Center — a plan approved by the Board of Supervisors in May 2024.
