Lovettsville community members gathered on Saturday morning to celebrate the opening of a new fire and rescue station that began operating on March 19 and features a hot decontamination area to clean gear on site.

Officials said the station marks progress in public safety and offers quality-of-life upgrades such as a big gym and large locker rooms + improved work areas for volunteer and career firefighters.

County and project leaders marked the groundbreaking for the Northern Virginia Science Center in Loudoun County on March 31, 2025—starting the building’s two-year construction of a 70000 square feet interactive museum set to serve families, students and seniors.

The project received $70 million from the state, $19 million from the county and support from private investors, with the center expected to open in 2027.

Baba’s Restro & Bar is a new restaurant that will open in the Ashburn Farm Market Center in the last week in April after replacing Mirazaan Cuisine and will serve Punjabi dishes.

Owner Roby Singh—an Ashburn resident—said the venue is part of the international Baba Chicken brand and plans to bring authentic flavors to Leesburg and nearby areas.

Loudoun County is asking residents to review a draft plan to reduce pollutants in Bull Run, Goose Creek and Sugarland Run—part of an update to meet state water quality guidelines—with comments accepted until April 15.

The plan details actions taken so far and best management practices planned for the future.

Beginning Saturday, April 5, Loudoun County Transit will expand its service by adding Sunday bus routes and extending paratransit hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The fare-free service will cover Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, Sugarland Run, Countryside, the Innovation Center Metrorail station and Dulles Town Center — a plan approved by the Board of Supervisors in May 2024.
