- ➤ Leesburg will host the 35th Annual Flower & Garden Festival on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th in historic downtown, hosted by the Town of Leesburg and presented by Loudoun Medical Group, with nearly 150 vendors offering plants, flowers, and gardening supplies; several streets will close starting Friday, April 25th at 5:30 p.m.—guests can use a free shuttle from Ida Lee Park and park in local garages—and the festival will run rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. - ➤ Loudoun County will host pit stops—one in Leesburg and one in Sterling—for Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 15 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Registered participants will pick up free T-shirts, giveaways and refreshments while registration events are held on April 24 at Trek Leesburg and on May 3 at Maverick Bikes. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Zeon Detwan Garner (22) was sentenced to six years and three months after being convicted on three counts of malicious wounding and one count of reckless handling of a firearm for firing at least eight rounds in a Leesburg apartment complex courtyard on May 30th, injuring three people. - ➤ The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office held a candlelight vigil at Douglass Community Center in Leesburg Sunday night to support crime victims and highlight services such as the Victim Advocate Unit established in 2023—remarks by Sgt. Lorraine Goldberg, county prosecutor Jonathan Dickey and stalking advocate Nicole Bialko underscored the event’s focus on community kinship. Loudoun Now

- ➤ Blue Ridge Middle School art students had an in-house field trip where they explored clay art and learned hand building and wheel throwing in three 50-minute sessions led by local experts—helping them gain practical skills without losing full class time. - ➤ Child care providers in Loudoun County can apply for a $750 quality improvement grant funded by $286,500 in ARPA funds. - ➤ Leesburg Town Council is holding a public hearing today at Town Hall at 7 p.m. to review changes to the noise ordinance—if approved, the changes will ban loud outdoor music without a permit and set a 75 decibel limit with fines for repeat violators. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Loudoun County has extended its Tourism Grant Program deadline to Friday, April 18 for nonprofits, municipalities and businesses seeking support for tourism projects. - ➤ Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System announced James Williams as its new fire chief, replacing retiring Chief Keith Johnson; County Administrator Tim Hemstreet said Williams was chosen after an extensive national search.
