  • Loudoun County Public Schools is planning upgrades to its public-facing data dashboard to better display student progress and school data.   • New IRS data shows Virginia taxpayers will get an average refund of $3,703 this tax season, with 92.2% of refunds sent by direct deposit. The analysis finds refund amounts rise with income, with high-income filers receiving larger checks and lower-income earners getting less.  Inside Nova

  • Loudoun County Fire and Rescue promoted Deputy Chief Micah Kiger to assistant chief for Operations on Monday — he led the Fire Marshal’s Office and brings extensive firefighting, EMS and leadership experience to fill the vacancy left after a recent Chief appointment.  Loudoun Now
