  • Wonder, a multi-restaurant chain from New York, is set to open its first outlet in Loudoun County at Fort Evans Plaza II with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 and doors opening at 5 p.m. for the first 100 guests to receive a gift.  The Burn

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Over 100 volunteers cleaned 124 acres in Loudoun County parks and trails during this past Earth Day cleanup organized by New Heaven (New Earth Church in partnership with County Parks, Recreation and Community Services); participants focused on protecting local waterways including parts of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.  Blue Ridge Leader

HEALTH NEWS

  • Loudoun County offers free behavioral health training sessions in May, featuring Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid at the county office in Sterling, a virtual opioid overdose session on May 4, and suicide prevention trainings on May 18 and June 1.   • Dr. Lauren Silvesti from Ashburn’s Farmwell Hunt neighborhood provided in-home euthanasia for Cindy McConnell’s greyhound Serena (a retired racer) in January after the pet battled bone cancer. McConnell said Serena passed away peacefully at her Sterling home, marking a compassionate end-of-life care option for pets.  The Burn
