  • On Tuesday, May 5, The Arc of Loudoun will host its 5th Annual Disability Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center (46105 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling), where up to 75 local organizations will offer free disability support services.  Blue Ridge Leader

  • Ketoctin Baptist Church (founded 1751) will hold its 275th homecoming celebration on Sunday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Purcellville as it joins the nation's Semiquincentennial with a talk by local speaker Rich Gillespie and a light luncheon.  Blue Ridge Leader

  • Loudoun County faces a shortage of flex and light industrial spaces that impacts local businesses and service providers with vacancy rates around 1 percent - support for the proposed Valley Commerce Center near Purcellville may boost growth and sustain community services.  Blue Ridge Leader

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Loudoun County Environmental Commission awarded its 2026 Environmental Excellence Award winners at the Board of Supervisors meeting on April 21. The winners included leaders in sustainable building, innovative climate education, and effective stormwater management, marking the program's fourth year of recognizing local environmental efforts.  Blue Ridge Leader

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Loudoun County Fire and Rescue celebrated the graduation of 33 firefighter/EMTs from its 48th and 49th recruit classes at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg in mid April, confirming their assignment to stations across the county. Graduates earned top honors for leadership, physical fitness & perseverance during their 36-week training.  Blue Ridge Leader
