- ➤ International yoga brand Alo Yoga will open a new 4,500 s.f. store at One Loudoun in Ashburn, joining other tenants (Arhaus, Bartaco, Tatte and more) as the lifestyle center fills with well-known stores and restaurants. The new block under construction will also include home decor and housewares shops (including Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma) and is set to add more choices for local shoppers. The Burn
- ➤ Nautical Bowls in Lansdowne Town Center is staying open after it announced a closure in March; management posted on social media yesterday that it will cut costs to boost business during the busy summer season—hoping to overcome a challenging year and a half. - ➤ A new Target store is under construction in Loudoun County where the main structure is built and its red and stone brick exterior is taking shape—showing rapid progress on this third location in the county. The store is located just north of the Dulles Landing retail center at the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Dulles West Boulevard and is part of the Shops at Arcola Center project with an opening date to be announced later this year. - ➤ Leesburg held a ribbon cutting on Monday to launch a free art gallery in Raflo Park that invites residents to share small works of art. The gallery, designed and painted by Girl Scout Troop 2718 (completed during their senior year at Loudoun County High School) and approved by the Town Council last fall, may be the first of many set up across Leesburg. - ➤ The Virginia Department of Historic Resources will unveil a state historical marker—approved by the Commonwealth’s Board of Historic Resources—at 11 a.m. May 2 for the John G. Lewis Memorial Bridge, a move that will recognize the bridge's historical significance. Loudoun Times-Mirror

- ➤ At a town hall hosted by Supervisor Letourneau on Monday night, Loudoun’s Executive Director of Economic Development Buddy Rizer said his office was watching federal decisions that could affect the local economy. He noted that less than 10% of the county’s GDP relies on government spending while warning signs such as a WARN notice for 217 federal contractors and fewer contracts may require retraining—his team is working to be proactive in addressing these changes. - ➤ Loudoun County Public Schools, the Loudoun Education Foundation and Amazon partnered to open Think Big Corners at four elementary schools after a ribbon cutting at Potowmack Elementary School on April 29—Amazon also launched a Think Big Mobile Van to offer hands-on STEM learning for students in Northern Virginia. - ➤ Tony Buffington—a former county supervisor and Purcellville resident—proposed that the town talk with Loudoun Water about taking over its water and sewer system to help lower high utility debt. - ➤ Purcellville Mayor Christopher Bertaut suspended fiscal year 2026 budget talks just before 5 p.m. because he must resolve whether Vice Mayor Ben Nett can join the discussions—he said the council will seek further legal advice and meet again on May 6. Loudoun Now
