- ➤ Blue Ridge Hospice Thrift Shop in Leesburg will soon move from its 5,500 sqft unit at Leesburg Plaza to a new 12,000 sqft space (former Party City) that will double its capacity to accept donations. The move is expected later this summer or early fall. The Burn

- ➤ Leesburg officials held a ribbon-cutting to open the new Wonder food hall at 528 Fort Evans Road on Thursday. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On April 27, the Student Behavior and Accountability Committee reviewed draft revisions to the student search policy to limit searches to trained LCPS officials (such as principals and security officers) and add measures like weapon detection and third-party testing; the changes are now open for public feedback ahead of a full board vote. - ➤ Eric Kursman of Blue Ridge Middle School was named 2026 Loudoun County Teacher of the Year on Tuesday during the annual school awards program and earned Loudoun’s nomination for The Washington Post DC-area teacher of the year, alongside several other LCPS honorees recognized for their impact on students. - ➤ On Tuesday, Loudoun County School Board approved renewing the contract for LCPS students to attend Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology — setting aside $7.3 million for tuition and transportation costs. Final approval will be considered at the next board meeting. Loudoun Now

- ➤ Toll Road Investors Partnership II filed an application to raise tolls on the Dulles Greenway by 95 cents for peak and 35 cents for off-peak hours to bolster stability. A public hearing will be held on June 29 at Rock Ridge High School and another virtually on July 1. Loudoun Now
