- ➤ LAWS Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services hosted its first Domestic Violence Symposium on Tuesday, May 6 with over 250 professionals meeting to learn coordinated strategies to prevent violence. - ➤ A house fire on Harbour Town Terrace in River Creek near Leesburg was caused by unattended cooking on May 5, and fire crews from Leesburg and nearby areas arrived around 2 p.m. to extinguish the flames; one adult was treated for minor injuries while the damage is estimated at $425,000. - ➤ At a Monday night hearing, local speakers in Dulles South opposed proposed attendance zone changes and urged a delay until a new high school opens in 2028 + Loudoun County Public Schools staff said the plan, which shifts planning zones to ease future overcrowding, will take effect for the 2026-2027 school year. - ➤ A rezoning application by JK Land Holdings to allow up to 742,000 square feet of data center use and alternative industrial or warehouse uses on 22 acres near Crosstrail Boulevard and Sycolin Road was deferred Tuesday night after the Board of Supervisors did not give enough support—The board will vote again on the proposal on June 3.
