- ➤ Leesburg Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened early Thursday morning on May 8 at the Sheetz at 915 Edwards Ferry Road NW when two unidentified suspects in all-black clothing entered at 3:47 a.m., showed a firearm to demand cash, and fled with no injuries reported—Detective C. - ➤ A 22-year-old man charged with making threats at the Loudoun County Public Defender’s Office pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in a May 6 hearing and has been placed in temporary custody for a mental evaluation—his next hearing is set for June 26. Loudoun Now

- ➤ Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares said on Tuesday that the state will investigate Loudoun County Public Schools after a Title IX probe was launched when three high school boys felt uncomfortable when a student changed clothes in a boys’ locker room at Stone Bridge High School. Loudoun officials defend their safety policies and claim a media report misrepresented the incident—while Gov. Glenn Youngkin and a parent questioned the investigation. WTOP
- ➤ Loudoun County Public Schools passed a generative AI policy in committee last night & it will now go to the full School Board for review. The policy limits use to division-approved AI programs, requires teacher approval for student use, and bans relying solely on AI for special education lesson plans, IEPs, placements, and grading.
