- ➤ Frye's Famous Crab Cake Co. will hold a soft opening on Tuesday, May 20 at its new location at Ashburn Eats restaurant center off Waxpool Road—where a new sign has been installed to show progress. The expanded store will offer a larger space, an expanded menu, and an onsite dining room compared to its Manassas location. The Burn
- ➤ A new Wawa gas station and convenience store is under construction at the Loudoun Crossroads project off Route 50 near Pleasant Valley Road, with its main building complete+ canopy installed+ and a monument sign at the entrance. Construction sources say the store is expected to open in August and has begun hiring, making it the third Wawa in the county. The Burn
- ➤ Ledo Pizza in Leesburg is expected to close as its equipment will be auctioned starting Tuesday, May 20 and buyers will pick up items on Thursday, May 22. - ➤ Firefighters injured in February's Sterling home explosion and property owners, including Laura Brown who lost her husband, filed a lawsuit against Southern States and two employees—alleging negligence for keeping a leaking propane tank in service—and they will seek millions in damages as a three-week jury trial is set to begin July 7. - ➤ On Thursday night, the Planning Commission recommended denying a rezoning application from property owners along Hiddenwood Lane that sought to convert 30 acres to Planned Development—Industrial Park for industrial and commercial use amid local concerns.
