- ➤ At JK Community Farm south of Round Hill, more than 50,000 seedlings were planted during the seventh annual plant-a-thon on May 16 and May 17 as the farm readies for the 2025 growing season. Loudoun Times-Mirror

- ➤ Leesburg Police Department is seeking two suspects in a robbery at the Sheetz store on May 18 at 6011 California Drive NE, off Fort Evans Road—no one was injured in the incident. Loudoun Times-Mirror
- ➤ Wencai Zhuang, a Chinese national, pleaded guilty to a gift card scam that defrauded 75 victims of over $700,000 and was sentenced last week to suspended 12 months in jail with time served (investigators linked his scheme to fraudulent Apple product purchases). Loudoun Now
- ➤ Leesburg Police investigated a malicious wounding early Saturday in the Leesburg Plaza parking lot at 2:18 a.m. on May 17—an adult male was found unconscious with head and face injuries after a large fight and two suspects, one described as a heavyset white male in a green shirt and the other as a white male in a blue shirt, fled on foot while several witnesses were present. - ➤ Leesburg’s Utilities Department held an open house on May 17 where residents toured machinery used for water main work and learned about emergency preparedness. - ➤ On May 15, Chair Phyllis J. Randall delivered her annual State of the County Address where she extended condolences for the air crash that killed nine local residents and announced a $5 million allocation for nonprofits—she also outlined plans for tax reductions, new homes, and stricter environmental rules for data centers to boost the county's growth.
