- ➤ A new Salvadoran restaurant, Tio Pinche Bar and Grill, is planned to open in Loudoun County after taking over the space left by RiceBerry Market at 22034 Shaw Road in Sterling—on the east side of Route 28 near the West Church Road intersection. The owners plan to serve Salvadoran and other Latin American cuisines and aim to open in the next month if all goes smoothly. The Burn

- ➤ A Sugarland Run fatal stabbing case will go to a grand jury after Dante R. Tatem—stepson of one of the involved men—said he tried to break up an argument between Wesley Richard Scott and Lathius Noel Martin on March 1. Loudoun Times-Mirror

- ➤ Teacher Amy Frenck (of Steuart W. Weller Elementary) has written almost 20 children’s books inspired by moments in her classroom that get her students excited about reading. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Retired chief Michael Jones — owner of Major Security — said a recent operational assessment found few issues at the Purcellville Police Department and that the full report will be released soon. Loudoun Times-Mirror
- ➤ The Town of Leesburg has collected more property tax revenue than expected in fiscal year 2025 due to last year’s annexation that brought a data center into town—staff noted a $1.5 million boost in real property taxes and faster-than-expected computer equipment tax collections. The Town Council will meet on July 21 to plan how to use the anticipated $3.4 million from these taxes for stormwater management upgrades while maintaining current real estate tax rates. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Leesburg Town Council renewed its grant agreement with Loudoun Cares for the Utility Customer Assistance Program to help residents with water and sewer bills who qualify with low incomes; the program provided aid to 10 of 23 applicants last year and still has funds remaining from a $100,000 appropriation. The council approved the renewal with a 6+1 vote while some members noted the need to better reach those in need. Loudoun Now
