- ➤ On June 5, experts told the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce that they will work to balance data center growth with community well-being amid rising local concerns—planners said measures will be evaluated to protect residents while promoting economic progress. Loudoun Times-Mirror

- ➤ Public speakers at Loudoun County School Board meetings said Chair Melinda M. Mansfield interrupted comments that criticized division employees — a practice they say limits free discussion of school matters. They claim the board's policy restricts open debate at meetings. Loudoun Times-Mirror
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dominion Energy will resume tree clearing along the W&OD Trail after pausing work in March amid safety concerns for transmission lines. The company met with local officials and NOVA Parks on June 3 & plans to remove selected trees in Loudoun to maintain the required clearance. Loudoun Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Leesburg Planning Commission is holding a public hearing today to review a request to amend the Town Plan by allowing data center and flex-industrial uses on a 102-acre site near the outlet mall. Town planning staff back the proposal for its potential to boost jobs & reduce traffic while noting that it may affect town character and compatibility. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Residents at Smart’s Mill Middle School met on June 4 to voice concerns over four proposed bypass options to ease traffic along Rt.—15 near Lucketts. County planners will narrow the proposals to two alternatives and plan to present final recommendations to the Board of Supervisors in early 2026. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Crews began operating out of the new Aldie Fire Station last week along Rt. 50 near Gilberts Corner. The $27 million, 23,000-square-foot facility replaces the old flood-prone station and serves more than 6,000 residents in a 40-square-mile area (a dedication ceremony is planned for July 19). - ➤ A recent study from Construction Coverage ranked Virginia as the 9th worst state to find a starter home, citing a composite score of 31.6, 59.7% of homes that are starter size, a median price of $333,806, and only 2.2 months of supply.
