- ➤ A new park in Sterling honoring fallen firefighter FF Trevor Brown will open July 26—built on the cleared site at 347 Silver Ridge Drive—to serve as his memorial, and community donors support the project. - ➤ A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred Friday afternoon at the Tall Cedars Parkway — South Riding Boulevard intersection in South Riding where one driver died at a hospital, another was seriously injured, and a third was treated on scene while investigators seek witness information. Inside Nova

- ➤ Walmart is exploring adding a Walmart Fuel gas station to its Compass Creek center—plans call for 14 fuel pumps and a small convenience store next door to an existing Sunoco station. Local officials will meet with Walmart soon to discuss the project’s feasibility. The Burn

- ➤ The Loudoun County surplus auction—which repurposes items for summertime fun—features picnic tables, water polo goals, children’s scooters, gym equipment, office furniture, computers and a 2017 Jeep Compass. The auction will close at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12, and buyers must register online to bid and pick up items by appointment at 14 Cardinal Park Drive, Suite 106 in Leesburg. Blue Ridge Leader
- ➤ On June 4, Supervisor Caleb Kershner hosted a meeting at Smart’s Mill Middle School to review four alternatives for the Route 15 Lucketts bypass while gathering skeptical public input—questions focused on traffic flow and local impacts.
