- ➤ Great Meadow Foundation will host its annual Big Boom celebration on Friday, July 4 at its 374-acre park in The Plains—featuring a fireworks display set to music, a Flying Circus Air Show with vintage biplanes, and interactive family activities such as pony rides, a petting zoo, and a rock-climbing wall. - ➤ Plaza Mexico—a small Mexican restaurant chain from Maryland—opened its first Virginia location at Dulles Landing shopping center in Loudoun County, taking over the space once occupied by Coal Fire Pizza. The restaurant serves a menu with chips and guac, taco salad, nachos, Pollo Adado, fajitas, quesadillas and burritos. The Burn
- ➤ California Tortilla closed its last Loudoun location at Brambleton Town Center, and a photo confirmed the sign has been removed while the phone now goes to a generic voicemail. Other county sites had closed earlier, and no new tenant has been named for the space — marking the chain’s gradual exit from the area. The Burn

- ➤ Leesburg Town Council endorsed a public art project to place 10 heart sculptures around town to highlight local artist talent. The commission will call for artist submissions and seek private sponsorship to cover the estimated $35,000 cost with installations planned at the Town Green, Olde Izaak Walton Park, Ida Lee Park and Thomas Balch Library — key town intersections will also be considered. - ➤ Loudoun County will hold three public meetings to gather community feedback for a planning study on the Cascades Library and Senior Center Complex; the sessions are set for June 25 at 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, July 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 at the Cascades Library, and July 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 at the Senior Center. - ➤ Community members gathered Thursday to protest ICE arrests at Sterling Immigration Court and a deal by the Sheriff’s Office to turn over inmates — protesters say 25 people detained left families feeling unsafe.
