BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pinstack from Dallas announced plans to build its first east coast venue on a site at Kincora along Russell Branch Parkway in Loudoun County. The roughly 56,000 square foot venue will include dining, bowling, and arcade games and is set to open in 2026—county leaders say it will boost the region's entertainment scene.  The Burn
  • Cloudbound is a new indoor play park designed for children ages zero to six and planned at Dulles Town Center in Sterling as part of the Sky Zone project. It will cover about 20,000 s.f. and include amenities such as a family café, private nursing rooms, and stroller parking — officials have not yet set an opening date.  The Burn

CULTURE NEWS

  • Drummer Dylan Brooks from Loudoun County went to Berklee to learn the music business and played with his band Ringpop! on the Vans Warped Tour in D.C. earlier this month—he will perform in Long Beach in July and in Orlando in November.  WTOP

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Loudoun County School Board approved the 2027-28 calendar on Tuesday—after reviewing four schedule options—selecting Option 1 by a 5 to 2 vote after classes ended. The schedule starts on Aug. 19 with winter break beginning Dec. 20, school resuming on Jan. 3, spring break running April 10 to 14 and the last day on June 14.  Loudoun Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Board of Supervisors will vote next month on which of Loudoun’s rural roads to pave while community members push for repairs that keep the road’s charm. A test project on Old Waterford Road used drainage fixes and stabilizing gravel — methods that saved money and could offer a new way to maintain roads without paving all 4.4 miles at a cost of $4.5 million.  Loudoun Now
  • On Tuesday, the Leesburg Town Council approved a special exception for Hotel Burg to expand its rooftop patio to include a food prep area and bathrooms as requested by developer Kevin Ash. The measure passed on a 5-1-1 vote and imposes restrictions—no live amplified music and operating hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday—following a November zoning ordinance change.  Loudoun Now
  • Leesburg Town Council approved on Tuesday a revised temporary construction easement that raises the offer to $1,400 (an increase of $900) for street improvements on Balls Bluff Road as part of the Veterans Park project. Construction began in May and Phase 1 will add an entrance road, parking areas, and a Potomac River boat ramp that will be ready next spring (per town plans).  Loudoun Now
