- ➤ County leaders celebrated the opening of the new Aldie Fire-Rescue Station on July 19 near Gilbert’s Corner roundabout on Rt. 50, replacing the old Station 7 that was built by community volunteers decades ago. The station will receive modern equipment, 24/7 engine and medic coverage, and full-time staffing for a heavy rescue unit this fall + the upgrade marks a long-term effort by county officials and fire-rescue leaders. - ➤ The Virginia Supreme Court upheld the State Corporation Commission's decision from September 2024 to deny Toll Road Investors Partnership II's request for a toll increase on the 14-mile Dulles Greenway, where peak tolls would have risen to $8.10 and off-peak tolls to $6.40. Loudoun County and Attorney General Jason Miyares said the ruling protects drivers and helps keep traffic on less congested public roads. WTOP
