  • The Burger Factory—a Canadian fast-casual brand with over 40 outlets—is planning to open a 2,000 s.f. location at Clock Tower Center in Sterling on Route 7, and more details will be shared as they become available.  The Burn
  • A new shop named Boba Tea and Snow Ice House opened in Sterling at Sugarland Crossing shopping center off Route 7—selling boba tea, snow ice, macarons and mochi ice cream bites. The shop is part of a national brand that began in 2018 and offers a variety of flavors.  The Burn

CRIME NEWS

  • Today a Loudoun County judge denied Purcellville Vice Mayor Ben Nett’s request for grand jury transcript copies and required that his attorney view the transcripts only at the clerk’s office—while granting him limited out-of-state travel and allowing Town Manager Kwasi Fraser two monthly visits with his ill father under strict bond conditions amid felony indictments.  Loudoun Now
  • After two dogs died in a hot vehicle in northern Virginia and Manuel Ovando was charged with a felony for leaving them unattended in June when temperatures exceeded 80 degrees, Loudoun County Animal Services said anyone who sees a pet locked in a car at a shopping center should ask staff to page the owner or call local authorities—car interiors can quickly become dangerous.  WTOP

  • Loudoun County Public Schools will repay $29 million to the Virginia Department of Education for changes in special education funding—steps aimed at fixing payment issues.  Loudoun Times-Mirror

  • CSS, a Leesburg-based government contractor specializing in data analytics, won the National HUBZone Trailblazer Strategic Connections Award in July—showing how Leesburg’s only designated HUBZone helps small businesses compete for federal contracts.   • Loudoun County’s Financial and Cybercrime Unit—credited with recovering over $1.4 million in one case—the Loudoun Farm Tour and Teen Photographers program were honored with 2025 Achievement Awards by the Virginia Association of Counties for excellence in combating digital financial crime, supporting local agriculture, and teaching photography skills to teens. The awards were selected from 155 submissions and highlight the county’s commitment to public safety, economic growth, and youth education.  Loudoun County
  • Purcellville Town Council will search for a new interim town manager after placing Kwasi Fraser on paid administrative leave amid felony charges, while acting manager Diana Hays continues in the role.
