  • Several dozen parents and teachers from Arc of Loudoun’s Aurora School staged a protest in downtown Leesburg on Thursday+ after the school was locked.  Loudoun Times-Mirror

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an individual was injured at Seneca Regional Park in Lowe’s Island—responding crews initially reported a structure fire but found no fire and transported the victim to a hospital.  Loudoun Now

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Crimson Coward is planning to open a Nashville Hot Chicken restaurant in a 1,700 s.f. space at Bellewood Commons. The company said construction work has not begun—so it expects to open the restaurant this fall.  The Burn

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students at Evergreen Mill Elementary School were greeted by cheerleaders and drummers on Aug.21st during first day celebrations by Loudoun County Public Schools. The event marked a lively start to the new school year.  Loudoun Times-Mirror
  • Teachers and parents from Aurora School protested downtown Leesburg on August 21, 2025, demanding that the Paxton Trust unlock the campus so students with autism could attend classes—protesters stressed that the closure created confusion for children while The Arc of Loudoun awaits a court ruling to regain access after its lease expired last summer. The Trust, which has worked for years to find a solution, has filed to dismiss the case as the nonprofit plans to eventually move to a new location.  Loudoun Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Loudoun County has again been recognized nationally as its Division of Procurement received the 2025 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute — making it one of only 48 counties to earn the honor and marking 27 consecutive years of excellence.  Loudoun County

HEALTH NEWS

  • Reporter Hanna Pampaloni’s routine trip to cover Inova Loudoun Hospital’s upgrade turned heroic when she performed CPR on a man who collapsed on Wednesday—she acted quickly on guidance from a 911 operator until EMS and hospital staff arrived. Inova spokesperson Renee Brohard credited her fast response for saving a life.  Loudoun Now
