Loudoun County’s fire-rescue community honored Capt. Dannie Wilson on Tuesday in a funeral procession along Rt.
7—marking his 25 years of dedicated service and mentorship—after he died Sunday from cancer.
The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties named honorees for the annual Roots & Legacies Gala set for Nov.
21—recognizing local individuals and groups for their contributions. The event will honor these community leaders with a special ceremony.

A well-known bank in Loudoun County said it will change its name on November 3 to Potomac Bank—reflecting its expanded service area beyond its original home.
The bank, formerly known as Bank of Charles Town, currently operates 11 branches including one in Leesburg.

A Monongalia County jury in West Virginia found a Texas man guilty of the first-degree murder of 26-year-old Jacob Lough, an Ashburn native, last week.

Karl Sharman was named president of Loudoun United last Tuesday and he plans to redevelop Segra Field into a community space by expanding seats, adding a roof, and improving food and beverage service—he envisions hosting youth activities and charity events to boost the experience.
Quintan Kilrain, a Purcellville native, earned a spot on the US men's lacrosse team—joining top players at the Under 20 World Championship in South Korea last month.
He began playing in a local youth league and now plays for Johns Hopkins as he prepares for next season.
