  • A new fast casual restaurant called Tio Pinche Bar and Grill will open Friday, September 12 at 11 a.m. at 22034 Shaw Road in Sterling where it will serve Honduran cuisine and pan-Latin American dishes—such as Seafood Paella, Spicy Shrimp and Chile en Nogada.  The Burn
  • Deli Italiano opened a new branch at 3 Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg where owner Yasser Baslios said the restaurant is known for its huge pizza slices, freshly made meals and a bright red 'Deli Man' robot that delivers orders—using locally sourced ingredients.  Loudoun Now

  • Loudoun County is holding a surplus auction that features electric recliners, an audio mixer, two pickup trucks, and other items, with the bidding ending Thursday, September 11 at 9:30 a.m.—buyers must register online and schedule pick-up appointments at 14 Cardinal Park Drive, Suite 106 in Leesburg.  Loudoun County
  • Rep. Suhas Subramanyam joined other officials in urging the SCC to require Dominion Energy to bury the Golden to Mars transmission line in eastern Loudoun due to concerns over nearby neighborhoods and schools. He said high costs for ratepayers—driven by growing data centers—mean that the energy industry should share the extra burden, as public hearings are set for Sept. 18 and 29 at Rock Ridge High School.  Loudoun Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • Today, about 20 runners will start the 9/11 Memorial Relay Run in Shanksville, PA—organized by the Old Town Run Club and Tunnel to Towers Foundation—as they set out on a 485-mile journey to honor 9/11 heroes; they will run to the Pentagon on Sept. 7 with a stop at Crooked Run Fermentation in Sterling from 3 to 5 p.m. before finishing the route in New York City on Sept. 11.  Loudoun Now
