- ➤ Over 300 visitors toured the JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary near Lucketts during a self-guided open house this weekend, according to the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy. - ➤ U.S. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam said Monday that a threat email from a constituent in August warned of violence at his Leesburg office — prompting enhanced security measures for his office, home and public events. U.S. Capitol Police and local authorities investigated the case and filed a temporary protective order ahead of a hearing set to decide its permanence. WTOP
- ➤ Loudoun County will begin early voting on September 19 at the Office of Elections and Voter Registration at 750 Miller Dr. — the office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and all non-provisional ballot requests and voter registrations must be submitted by October 24. Loudoun County
- ➤ Loudoun County leaders broke ground on the new Leesburg South Fire and Rescue Station on Monday at the intersection of The Woods Road and Evergreen Mills Road to serve the south side of Leesburg and nearby areas with a new engine, tanker, ambulance and hazardous materials unit in a 26,000—square-foot facility. The $30,042,038 project will include living quarters, offices, apparatus bays and training areas and is scheduled for completion in winter. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Loudoun County Treasurer Henry C. Eickelberg announced a new online tax payment portal that lets residents pay business, personal property and real estate taxes easily—using options like Apple Pay, Venmo, and others. The portal lets taxpayers consolidate accounts, schedule future payments and print their bills while traditional methods remain available. Loudoun County
- ➤ Purcellville Town Council approved funding requests for a new water treatment plant and improvements at the Eastgate Drive intersection to address water safety issues from high PFAS levels.
