  • Apricot Lane, a women's clothing boutique that opened at One Loudoun in Ashburn in 2021, closed its store and announced a move to a new location via social media. The team stated they are not closing but moving—no details on the new site or opening date were provided.  The Burn
  • A new Target store opened five days early in southern Loudoun County in the Arcola/South Riding area; the store at 24670 Arcola Landing Drive welcomed shoppers on Tuesday evening. The 148,000 s.f. location offers a grocery section and a Starbucks cafe — it is the first tenant in the future Shops at Arcola Center.  The Burn
  • The Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce appointed Michael Morgan as its new executive director effective Oct. 13. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Loudoun County Transit will launch a commuter bus pilot program on Monday, October 20 that connects commuters from Frederick County and Prince William County to job centers in Loudoun—buses will run Monday through Friday with morning trips starting at 4:30 a.m. and evening trips until 9:15 p.m., cost $8.25 per ride, and run for one year before the Board of Supervisors reviews its performance.  Loudoun County
  • Attorney General Jason Miyares met with leaders of Northern Virginia’s Asian and Hindu communities on Wednesday to discuss concerns about discrimination in education—issues raised by a recent investigation into admissions practices.   • Leesburg will host twice-yearly meetings so residents can see inside how the town operates—officials will lead sessions at Town Hall. The first meeting begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 23.  Loudoun Times-Mirror

  • Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center at Inova Loudoun Hospital was named a provisional Level II Trauma Center at a ceremony on Oct 7 in Leesburg — it expands access to expert trauma care and reduces the need for long patient transfers.  Blue Ridge Leader
