BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pitango Gelato has signed a lease for a 1,500 s.f. space in South Riding Market Square—the former GameStop location—where it will open a new gelato shop in Loudoun County. The upscale brand, known for making authentic Italian gelato with organic milk and fresh fruit, is expected to open by next spring.  The Burn
  • A new sign for the Canadian restaurant Karahi Boys has been installed at Nokes Plaza in Dulles Town Center in Sterling. The 5,400 s.f. space has been under construction for months, and the restaurant—set to be the first Virginia location—will open soon.  The Burn
  • Bobby’s Bagel Cafe plans to open a new location in Sterling at Countryside Marketplace—occupying nearly 2,400 s.f. of the end unit that once housed Countryside Cafe and Pizzeria. The local chain already has shops in Herndon, Reston, and Oakton and has not given an opening date.  The Burn
  • The newly built Karahi Boys restaurant—the first Virginia location for the Canadian brand—has had its sign installed at Nokes Plaza in Sterling, and company officials are expected to announce an opening date soon.  The Burn

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • County officials discussed a proposed expansion of Franklin Park between Purcellville and Round Hill at a public meeting on Oct. 23 at Round Hill Elementary School.  Loudoun Times-Mirror
  • Leesburg’s Parks and Recreation Department launched its Master Planning Process, an online tool that lets residents share input on park projects and budget choices for improvements over the next 10–15 years. Residents can complete a survey, use an interactive map, and post comments on the idea wall—offering their opinions until May 2026.  Loudoun Now
  • County leaders will hold a meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at Rust Library to discuss the $60 million water and wastewater project for Paeonian Springs and Waterford — a plan designed to address long-standing public health concerns and aging septic systems.  Loudoun Now
