- ➤ Amy Riccardi, a longtime Sterling resident, consultant and adjunct professor at GMU, unseated incumbent Arben Istrefi in the Loudoun County School Board race for the Sterling District by winning 51.5% of the vote—she will focus on supporting Title I schools, addressing food insecurity and ensuring safe learning environments for students. - ➤ The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office banned outdoor burning until further notice because low moisture and high winds set conditions for brush fires — a decision made after four brush fires, including one that burned over an acre, were reported between Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 — and violators may face up to one year in jail or a fine of $2,500.
