- ➤ Donna Truslow Rogers, 85, a respected Loudoun County farmer and equestrian, died on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Hillbrook Farm in Hamilton following a stroke. A memorial service is set for Friday, Jan. 9 at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville (memorial contributions may be made to local organizations). Blue Ridge Leader
- ➤ Brittney Hamilton (advertising director of the Times-Mirror) presented a check to deputy director Trish McNeal at Loudoun Hunger Relief. The donation was made possible by 29 local advertisers who supported the food bank. Loudoun Times-Mirror

- ➤ Belly Rubs, a pet grooming studio and pet supplies store that served the community for 13 years, is closing today at its Ashburn Farm Market Center location as owner Theresa Hogge ends the lease to move closer to her parents, leaving a 2,800 sqft retail space vacant for now. The Burn
- ➤ Chipotle is planning a new restaurant in Loudoun County's Brambleton Town Center, taking over a 2,500 sqft space that formerly housed California Tortilla on the Harris Teeter side of the center — a permit has been issued but an opening date is yet to be announced. The Burn
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Loudoun County School Board is reviewing Policy 5340 on safe and supportive removal of students, which requires staff training, incident documentation, and parent notification within 24 hours. The Student Services Committee amended the draft and voted to keep the policy in committee for further discussion before sending it to the full board. Loudoun Now
- ➤ An inmate at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center earned a high school diploma from Heritage High School after completing a program run in partnership with public schools and the sheriff’s office. This first graduation at the jail marks a milestone in efforts to support inmate education. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Students at Unity Reed High School have launched an Angel Tree program today to supply holiday gifts to families in need at Ellis and Innovation Elementary Schools. - ➤ The Town Council in Lovettsville authorized up to three grant applications to seek $45,000 in federal funding after a newly tested well at Park Place showed PFAS levels above EPA limits.
