- ➤ Lightridge High School Marching Storm band has begun planning for a New Year's Day parade in London in 2027 — the group is coordinating travel and fundraising efforts after receiving an invitation to join the event. Loudoun Times-Mirror

- ➤ Jon Pepper will begin a four-year term as the Dulles District School Board member on Jan. 1 (replacing Melinda Mansfield). He aims to boost student safety, transparency, rezoning efforts and STEM programs as the Board holds its annual meeting on Jan. 6. Loudoun Now
- ➤ Loudoun County Public Libraries will expand Sunday hours starting Jan. 4. The change will give local residents more time to visit branches and enjoy library programs. Loudoun Times-Mirror
